Sending goes wallet to wallet. It is instant, and there is no fee — the person receives exactly what you send.

Finding the person

Tap the round scan button in the middle of the tab bar and scan their Loosh code. That is how you send, and it works off a screen, a printed tip card or a poster. If someone sends you their wallet link, opening it shows their Loosh card — tap Send there to pay them.
You can only send to an existing Loosh wallet. There is no send-to-a-phone-number, so the person needs to be on Loosh. If they are not, a cash token is the way — they can redeem it after signing up.

The steps

1

Choose the wallet you are paying from

Each of your wallets shows its balance, so you can send from the right one.
2

Enter an amount

Chips for common amounts, or the keypad.
3

Add a note (optional)

Up to 140 characters. The recipient sees it, so write it for them.
4

Review and confirm

Then your PIN or biometrics. Money never moves without it — if your phone has no lock set yet, you will set a PIN there and then.
The recipient’s balance grows immediately and they get a notification naming your wallet and the amount.

If you do not have enough

Where pledges are available, you can still type the amount. The review screen then offers to record it as a pledge instead — nothing moves, nobody is told, and you settle it once you have topped up. How pledges work.

Sending twice by mistake

Loosh blocks an identical amount to the same person inside a minute, and tells you plainly that you were not charged twice. If the repeat was deliberate, wait a minute and send again.

A completed send cannot be reversed

Check the name on the review screen before you confirm. Once it is sent, the only route back is asking the recipient to return it — support cannot take money out of someone else’s wallet.
