Simply put, it keeps you and everyone else safe. Identity verification is a regulatory compliance requirement (FICA) to confirm who you are before we pay money to someone. It is a one-time check handled internally, or by our verification partner Sumsub. Your profile pages and screens will show your verification status as Pending verification until verification is complete

What it unlocks

So you can use Loosh before verifying — you just cannot take money out until you are verified.

What to have ready

  • A photo of your ID document — ID card, passport or driver’s license
  • A quick selfie, so we know it is really you
  • About three minutes
Good light and the whole document in frame make the difference between passing first time and being asked again.

How it goes

1

Start

From Withdraw on a wallet, or from the bonus tile on your wallet.
2

Capture

Sumsub takes over inside the app to photograph your document and check it is a live person holding it.
3

Review

Usually a few minutes. Keep the app open and the screen updates itself when the result lands — there is a Refresh if it seems slow.
If something did not match, the app says so and gives you Try again — most failures are a blurry photo or a cut-off edge, and a second attempt with better light clears them. If you are asked for more, the app usually says what is missing. If the same document keeps failing, contact support rather than trying repeatedly — some rejections cannot be cleared by retrying.

The verification fee

There is a one-time fee for the identity check. You pay nothing when you verify — it is deducted from your first withdrawal, and only ever once. You will see it before you commit: named on the withdrawal amount screen, and again as One-time KYC fee on the review screen above what you receive. The amount differs by country and can change, so it is shown in the app rather than printed here.
